Call For Papers For TWC2012
The 14th annual TETRA World Congress will take place 14th – 17th May 2012 in Dubai. The research and production process for the conference programme is now underway, giving you the opportunity to share your thoughts on content for the agenda and to submit a case study proposal.
The TETRA World Congress is the world’s largest TETRA conference and exhibition and attracts more than 3000 attendees annually. It provides a unique opportunity to meet users, manufacturers, network operators, application developers and systems integrators from across the globe.
If you would like to actively share your knowledge and practical experience with this audience then we would like to hear from you. The goal of the event is to allow mission critical communications users to exchange ideas, develop expertise and share best practice. The interactive programme for 2012 will focus on TETRA – Delivering Critical Communications Today and Tomorrow and will incorporate a mixture of case study presentations, workshop-based discussions, panel sessions, interviews, seminars and masterclasses.
Key themes for discussion are likely to include:
- TETRA: Its role in Critical Communications
- TETRA Commercial Business Models
- Future Developments for TETRA
- Critical Communication Data needs including TEDS and broadband solutions
- Applications and Innovations for TETRA
- TETRA And Complementary Technologies
- Users’ experiences from TETRA
- TETRA in Crisis Management, Incident And Event Planning
- TETRA in the Commercial Sectors – e.g. Transport, Energy, Utilities, Oil & Gas
- Interoperability and Cooperation
- Digital Dividend, Spectrum Availability and Management
If you would like to contribute to the conference programme as a presenter, discussion leader or panellist, we invite you to submit papers or proposals for consideration no later than Friday 30th September 2011. Please send submissions to IIR by email to TWC@iir-telecoms.com.
Submitting a paper.
Submissions to participate as a speaker at TWC 2012 are welcomed from all interested parties including TETRA end users, operators, analysts, systems integrators, handset and equipment manufacturers and application developers. Selected presentations are likely to address a range of issues facing the different members of the industry including technical, commercial and operational challenges.
As the number of interesting submissions for the Congress always exceeds the number of speaking positions available, priority will be given to proposals that are judged to be of particular relevance and interest to delegates.
User and operator case studies are encouraged from both mature and developing TETRA markets. Presentations should not include an overview of the basic attributes of TETRA, as these will be covered elsewhere in the agenda. Each presentation is likely to last approximately 15-20 minutes plus 5-10 minutes for questions.
TWC 2012 will include a number of panel sessions, as well as focused half day seminars and masterclasses. Submissions and suggestions for these are also welcomed.
Please note that the language of the Congress will be English and that all submissions should be made in English.
Please send submissions to IIR by email to TWC@iir-telecoms.com.
Points to note in putting together a submission
- As competition for speaking slots is so strong it is important that submissions are written clearly and that the key points of interest in the proposed presentation are highlighted.
- Submissions should be no longer than 300 words and should include the name of the speaker, a description of the subject matter and details of why the topic would be of interest to the TWC delegation. Whilst we accept that unforeseen circumstances can occur, delegates register for the conference based on the content of the programme and listed speakers. The organisers therefore strongly discourage changes to the programme after publication. Before a paper is finally accepted, written confirmation from the speaker will be required.
The closing date for submissions is Friday 30th September 2011 and all successful papers will be confirmed in January 2012.
Speakers
Priority will be given to presentations made by senior level speakers and those with proven presentational skills (although an effort will also be made to enable new speakers and companies to participate where appropriate). Contact details will be needed for all speakers in advance of confirmation of the programme. Please ensure that all speakers named in submissions have agreed to speak!
